Sometimes in marlin fishing, the dry spells can be downright demoralizing. Capt. Chris Donato has had his fair share of ups and downs though and understands the importance of maintaining a positive outlook. Because after all, happy boats and happy crews are the ones that catch fish consistently.
In this episode, he keeps his single charter angler busy, first with a bite from a giant blue marlin they estimated at well over 800 pounds. After releasing that fish, which came up on the short corner lure, they reset the spread and hooked a second smaller blue on a bullet fished on the stinger. That’s two-for-two, Kona style.
