The new ownership of Sea Spray Resort and Marina on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas’ Abaco islands, have announced the first of what they hope will be many outstanding fishing tournaments and events hosted by the resort. The Sea Spray Abaco Challenge will take place at the resort on February 9 to 11, 2017. Qualifying species are wahoo, mahimahi, blackfin and yellowfin tuna and grouper. This tournament is a team event with the top five teams taking home cash, trophies and first-class prize packages.
This event is designed for families and friends who enjoy fishing, boating, and friendly competition, but don’t want to break the bank on entry fees and outrageous side bets. Ten percent of all proceeds will benefit the Every Child Counts Foundation and the Hopetown Primary School. Resort Chef Charles Edden and his team will serve first-class appetizers and meals throughout the weekend, including breakfast for all anglers each morning. Live entertainment will be provided every night, culminating with a full Bahamian Junkanoo band and limbo fire dancer at the awards banquet.
