Catch billfish and big game species, improve your skills, meet new friends and explore the destination: our six-day itinerary is all about creating a fun, immersive experience.
Anglers arrive for check-in. A welcome reception and dinner gives participants the opportunity to get to know each other before heading out on the water.
Fishing days start early: breakfast at 6 a.m., and departure from the marina at 7 a.m. Each day is unique as the anglers’ skills, weather, and bite factor into what happens on the water. But the overall goal remains constant: catch fish, learn, and have a great time. Boats are back at the marina at 4 p.m. so anglers have time to freshen up before dinner at 6:30 p.m., which often consists of the day’s catch.
Anglers put what they have learned to the test and compete in a mini fishing tournament. Bragging rights and trophies are on the line. The day concludes with dinner and the awards ceremony.
Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. Departure times vary, but we ensure there’s ample time for the return to San Jose for flights back home.
Costa Rica truly stands out as a haven for billfishing enthusiasts. Offering numerous opportunities and generally serene waters, the sailfish season spans from January to April, but anglers can successfully reel in marlin and sailfish throughout the entire year. When the conditions align, the action can be absolutely astounding, with many boats achieving more than 40 sailfish releases in a single day, and some even surpassing an impressive 75.
One of the most thrilling fishing methods is presenting a ballyhoo to entice billfish right behind the boat. We are dedicated to teaching you the most efficient techniques to help you experience that sought-after bite from these majestic creatures.
