Maptech Compact ChartKits
Maptech recently introduced a brand-new line of waterproof Compact ChartKits that don't take up much space on the bridge, so there's no excuse to leave them at home.
Mar 31, 2008
No matter what kind of money you've spent on your electronics suite, venturing offshore without a set of waterproof charts is just plain foolish. Even the best systems are subject to lightening strikes, water intrusion or some wiring mishap that could render them useless. All professional captains plot their course on paper charts, especially those making long, open-water crossings. Maptech recently introduced a brand-new line of waterproof Compact ChartKits that don't take up much space on the bridge, so there's no excuse to leave them at home.

At half the size (12" x 17") of the original ChartKit, each title covers approximately one-third the area of the full-sized version. These new titles come on tough, tear-resistant plastic pages that are completely waterproof. All coastal U.S. titles include free Companion Charts for the region that you can download to your PC.

In addition, Maptech produces a series of Cruising Guides that list thousands of marinas, emergency numbers and sightseeing opportunities.
